Moving Locally: Address ChangeSeptember 2002
Introduction Who do I send this to? What do I send?
We decided to send the letter by certified mail with return receipt, even though we knew that it would take a little bit longer. We are concerned that there could be problems getting the address change associated with Dan's file, and hope that sending the letter this way will be added proof we carried our part of the burden. Response Update: The misspelling hasn't yet caused problems as such, but the INS (excuse me, BCIS) doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to fix it, either. On March 20, we sent a letter requesting that they fix the misspelling. BCIS sent a response on March 26, 2003 acknowledging they'd received our letter (and spelling Dan's name correctly in the response) but said: Please be advised that we are working on a response to that inquiry and recognize that due to the nature of the case, it may take some time to obtain the information requested. You will receive a response within ninety days from the date of this letter. Spouse/Sponsors |
